Nina Freeman and Emmett Butler are responsible for an itty bitty game about a little girl and her thoughts about sex, called how do you Do It. I loved it immediately because the art is charmingly awkward, but what I love even more is that you can spend a few minutes inside a little girl’s head as she tries to figure out what grownups do by smashing together two dolls.
As you play you get to witness her thoughts. “Maybe sex is just a lot of kissing and hugging.” “Why was it so cloudy in there?” You realize right away that she’s trying to reenact the scene from Titanic. As I was but a kidling in 1997 when Titanic came out, I remember being guilty of very similar thoughts. It’s short and sweet, and its controls and animation are both pretty damn QWOP-y, with doll arms and legs flopping around. So far I’ve seen a high score of 359.
